Iron Advanced + C uses Ferrochel®, a patented ferrous bisglycinate chelate where iron is bound to two glycine amino acids. This chelated structure protects iron during digestion and allows absorption via amino acid transport pathways, reducing competition with other minerals and limiting inhibition from phytates and oxalates commonly found in plant based diets. Compared to traditional iron salts such as ferrous sulfate or fumarate, Ferrochel® delivers superior bioavailability with significantly improved gastrointestinal tolerance.
Iron plays a central role in haemoglobin and myoglobin formation, enabling oxygen transport to working muscles, while also supporting mitochondrial enzymes involved in ATP production. Vitamin C is included to maintain iron in its reduced ferrous form, enhancing non-haem iron absorption in the small intestine and contributing to reduced fatigue and normal energy metabolism. Each batch is Informed Sport Certified, ensuring suitability for tested athletes.
